Our community needs more Trauma informed Workers

As we embark on the middle of this month ,that is to do with women's history ,I can't help but ponder on these questions that are often asked but go unanswered .

1.Why didn't she gets out of there ?

We are unconsciously attaching shame on Immobilization

2.Why didn't she ever say something when she was having such a hard time ?

We are stopping her from reaching out to us.

3.Why is she still staying in this relationship on the excuse of kids, social stigma ?

We are not trustworthy for her.

We talk about trauma very often from a clinical, social or societal point of view. But we never look and acknowledge ,even to ourselves the permanent scars that trauma leaves on us..Every time another incident happens we are triggered ..

Our nervous system acknowledges that physically and mentally ..Add to that childhood developmental trauma and the only thing that the child ever knows ,the whole mind is trapped into a cycle forever..

I am not a psychologist to be able to provide clinical solution, but I have personally seen that even after years of therapy ,An incident can still return the person to that animal point of subconsciousness..

The truth is the person going through the situation is only capable herself, of finally dealing and overcoming ..All that we can do is listen and listen and not judge ..We need to guide these women to make conscious choices everytime rather than react from trauma...

What I believe works is emotional support and mentorship .If we can't offer nothing ,just the fact that we believe in them and their trauma which is as real as it gets ,as they are living it every moment .No justification of She had it easy it could have been worse .Being a Woman to another. Is all that is necessary and Needed
