life with HIV can at time involve worries ,uncertainty and anxiety can be a natural response to a new development in life
mary was an orphan teen who grew up in orphanage her mother died giving birth to her she had no idea who his father was when she was 18yo she was out of orphanage enjoying the freedom of her teen the world was so cruel to mary that forgot to take good care of herself . she was so wild everyone loved mary until her nightlife got exposed she began feeling so ill and by june of 2008 she lost over 100 pounds, she had no energy was always running out of breath , her hair was falling off i would say her body immunity system was failing . mary went from being a happy healthy kid to blur horrendous anxious kid with days to live , she stopped going out , enjoying things she used to do with passion. and as she grew weaker the words spread out like wild fire that Mary have tuberculosis thats when this NGO that handle such cases came to her rescue rushed her for multiple CT scan and MPI after the doctors presumed she was suffering from cancer just from her history of heavy drinking that all came out negative . thats when doctors decided to test her for HIV. thats when i got a call from her caregiver that mary was tested positive and she was in ER , unti for people with HIV it was hard to swallow because i knew the anxiety that want to spread among young people that had sex with her and all the misinformation about HIV infection .that didn't take long before those who had a thing with marry started committing suicide for fear of being stigmatized by their peers. while others started being careless by sleeping around stating that they wont die alone. because words spread like fire it caught the attention of local health workers and with the help of government young people were being encouraged to practise safe safe , the government with the help of NGO distributed free test kits and condoms. and those found to be positive were enrolled for treatment and canceling . that event was positively taken by many sexually active teens that ended up testing positive to HIV . some had no idea they were HIV positive . before testing the are always prepared for their result for the sake of their mental health.so most of them were not left with suicidal minds after finding out that they have the virus . the health care workers also encouraged them to not fear because just because you positive it doesn't mean its the end of the world , people live with HIV virus to old age if they follow the correct medication recommended by the physicians.nway mary got so sick went in a coma for one week but with the many friends she had they had hope that she will get through it . and yes after weeks in ICU make open her eyes and was transferred to recovery room where she surprised many who had lost hope .every visiting hour was a time to encourage mary to be better , together we motivated her we encouraged her to continue believing in herself . and yes mary did the best part of this other patients who were recovering together with mary got better too we motivated them too and we had no idea how helpful we were . a month after mery was admitted she was fully health , well enjoying her counseling therapy and eating disorder therapy and mental check session , this really nursed may back to herself .she became a role model to many who looked HIV as the end of the world . she became a motivational speaker in her youtube channel she share he life to encourage other people living with HIV that its never the end of the world .every world AIDS day she is alway recognized by the local government for her braveness , for overcoming all she went through to be the wow an she is today . mary has a podcast were she has her Q/A session with her listeners she bond so well with her audience together she build beautiful family that have gone through the same experience as her. i have attended some of her HIV campaign and i tell you , you will like it so much and will want to engage with her in all she gives back to the community. mary as become a very strong powerful woman that is living proof to so many people in my community she is the first to speared the need of teaching sex education in schools , she use her experience to educate younger generation that there is more to life . mary has given me strength to continue being a voice of change to those who have lost hope , ever since i talked to mary on her death bed and she made it out alive , i will never take being there for others for granted , words are power that can heal those broken souls , this has made me look forward to more workshop that create awareness to people living with HIV , it has given me courage to continue doing my research and read more about what innovative ideas are being implemented to easy the virus , the benefit of HIV medication what's new about them , who is making them then share with my community without fear of being targeted . mary is a woman that i'm so proud to tell the world that she was dead on arrival but she made it it through because words have powers , the powers of our words brought mary back to health thats why i will always encourage people to be checking on their quiet friends may be they are broken deep inside and they need a '' how are you doing my friend from you , you might save a broken life .
