Each year, NWMI honors Arba'een and the spirit of Imam Hussain's sacrifice by highlighting a current issue. This year, we will screen a powerful documentary from Zeteo, a new media company committed to independent and unfiltered journalism. After the film, we will host a panel discussion featuring Mehdi Hasan, Editor-in-Chief and CEO of Zeteo.

Dinner will be served promptly at 5:45pm so that we can be seated and ready to view the film together. Film screening will begin promptly at 6:15pm.

I heard about this NWMI sponsored event for Arba'een that took place two days ago or on Saturday, August 16, 2025. How disgraceful they did not even have enough respect for the oppressed people of Palestine, for the daily horror they have been going through at a fast forward intensity in near two years, for their suffering to honor them and their catastrophe by publicly announcing the NAME OF THE FILM by ZETEO which is "GAZA: DOCTORS UNDER ATTACK" in the marketing (who markets a film and not state its name) of their event on their Instagram and on their Facebook which included a screening of this film. It's also utterly disrespectful of Mehdi Hasan, his/their company, including the one who helped launch it, Haroon Mokhtarzada that the name of the film produced by them was not mentioned on NWMI's social media. UNBELIEVABLE. For these reasons, Mehdi Hasan should not have participated. He should have chosen not to be a guest. He should have declined NWMI's invitation if it were that he was invited to attend by them. Maybe it was he who offered, or someone else or others who suggested that he participate. I don't know so I cannot say for sure. BOYCOTT NWMI!!! BOYCOTT ORGANIZATIONS LIKE THESE THAT CLAIM THAT THEY ARE FOR THE GOOD OF MUSLIMS OR SHALL I SAY, "AMERICAN MUSLIMS." DISGRACEFUL. As far as I've learned, they've done very little as an organization in a public manner for colonized, oppressed, bleeding Palestine and its people. AGAIN, DISGRACEFUL. AND A NUMBER OF THE ONES WHO LEAD NWMI AND ARE DECISION MAKERS FOR THE ORGANIZATION KNOW BETTER; THEY KNOW BETTER.

Member retention or retaining members is a far better strategy for any organization (profit or nonprofit) for a number of reasons than trying to find new members. NWMI lost some of its' members because of my calling them out years ago https://hellopoetry.com/poems/4620699/kein-respekt-fur-sie-nwmi-no-respect-for-you-nwmi, and I hope they continue losing members by my truthfully spotlighting their hypocrisy and by any others who legitimately do the same.
