Unlocking the Power of Your Cycle: HealCycle’s Vision for Mental & Hormonal Health

I was 17 when I first stood before my classmates, challenging the silence surrounding menstruation. Through my initiative, Pravahkriti, we used street plays, public stalls, and interactive games to educate and destigmatize periods in schools and in our city. We also installed sanitary pad dispensers in several schools, making menstrual hygiene more accessible.

At Princeton University, I delved deeper into the intersection of technology and women's health. I studied Computer Science, Cognitive Science, and Technology Policy, aiming to develop solutions that address both physical and mental health challenges women face. My work with The Pad Project further exposed me to the global disparities in menstrual health education and resources.

It was during this time that I learned about Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), a severe mood disorder affecting millions yet often misdiagnosed. The lack of awareness and resources for PMDD sufferers was alarming. I realized the need for a platform that not only educates but also provides tangible support.

This realization led to the creation of HealCycle—a digital platform dedicated to empowering women to understand and manage their menstrual and mental health. HealCycle offers personalized symptom tracking, educational resources, and a supportive community. Our goal is to bridge the gap between gynecology and psychiatry, providing holistic care for conditions like PMDD.

I have built this app not just as a tech product, but as a safe, intelligent, and emotionally aware space for women to feel seen, especially in the days when our hormones hijack our peace. We focus deeply on conditions like PMS and PMDD — both of which are often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or entirely ignored. I’ve spoken to women who felt like strangers in their own minds every month. I’ve listened to stories of missed diagnoses, unspoken struggles, and silent suffering. And I knew we needed more than a period tracker — we needed something that truly understood the emotional weight of our cycles.

HealCycle is now live on both the Play Store and App Store. It helps users track their cycles, but it goes far beyond dates. The app lets you map your moods, log mental health patterns, journal through tough days, and reflect on changes over time. It gently connects the dots between your hormones and your headspace, helping you make sense of what so often feels senseless.

One of the most loved features inside the app is Tara — our in-built AI companion. Tara doesn’t just offer data-driven insights; she listens. She’s designed to respond with empathy, guide you to helpful resources, and be there when no one else is. But she’s just one piece of a much bigger mission.

Our vision with HealCycle is simple but radical: to put mental health at the center of menstrual health, to validate what generations before us were told to ignore, to make sure no one has to fight alone in the fog of PMS, in the storm of PMDD, or in the quiet ache of not being understood.

Because your mind matters as much as your cycle and it’s time the world caught up. Visit our website for more: https://www.healcycle.com/
