1000 Girls, 1000 futures!
There are still millions of girls who are out of school and this is unacceptable. This initiative aims to enroll and retain girls in School in Potiskum LGA of Yobe State, Nigeria.
The theory of change here is that if financial, cultural barriers are removed, a community can then ensure that their girls education becomes a priority.
Initiative's Goal
To increase the enrollment, retention, and academic success of girls in Yobe State by addressing gender disparities in education through innovative community-driven solutions.
Objectives
Increase Enrollment: Enroll at least 1,000 out-of-school girls in primary and secondary schools within one year.
Enhance Retention: Reduce dropout rates among girls by 30% through financial, social, and educational support.
Community Engagement: Improve community awareness and support for girls' education by working with parents, religious leaders, and policymakers.
Address Barriers: Provide innovative incentives such as digital learning tools, menstrual health support, and safe school environments to reduce obstacles to girls’ education.
Innovative Approach
Girls’ Education Sponsorship Fund (GESF): A community-led scholarship scheme where businesses, community leaders, and philanthropists sponsor girls' education.
Digital Learning & Mentorship Hubs: Establish technology-equipped safe spaces where girls access online learning, career mentorship, and life skills training.
