2013 VOF week 2

When I applied for this, something inside of me leaped! My first thought was...why didn't I think of this idea myself!!!!
Growing up in Lagos,Nigeria women are often seen not heard.Roles are defined and our culture is so bias against the women folk.this platform gives me the opportunity to express myself in terms of issues that girls and women alike find so so difficult to say!
How can u tell people u were raped;violated;verbally abused? They would say you as the female must have enticed the man to commit the hedious crime! How can u tell ur mum that her husband and ur father wants to sleep with u?my experience working with high school kids has shown me that these girls are pontential leaders and people ned to wake up and smell the coffee.women MUST believe in themselves and their God given gifts to forge ahead.
That's the voice am lending...to speak out for those that can't so that together we can heal and the next generation will be whole and not dysfunctional!
