52 girls mentored under GEM #IamPossible Mentorship initiative

I am Keturah Shammah, a World Pulse Changemaker and Digital Ambassador. I am also the Founder of Girls Education Mission International, leading the #IamPossible Girls Mentorship Initiative - program born from one belief: when a girl is supported, her dreams are unstoppable.

As part of this initiative, we welcomed 52 bright yet vulnerable girls into our mentorship circle. Many arrived with heavy hearts - some had almost dropped out of school due to unpaid school fees, others carried the weight of household responsibilities, and some had stopped dreaming altogether.

I still remember one 15 year old who whispered to me, “Aunty, I was ready to give up. I thought my education was over.” Today, she stands taller, not only excelling in her studies but mentoring her peers with a smile that says, “I know Iam Possible.”

Through 6 months of guidance, life skills training, and academic support, we gave these girls more than knowledge, we gave them hope. And we made a bold promise: for the next three years, we will pay their school fees until they graduate from senior secondary school.

This is more than charity; it is a commitment to stability, confidence, and self-belief. Already, we see remarkable change, improved grades, stronger voices, and a newfound vision for the future. Education is no longer a distant dream for these girls, it’s their reality.

We are rewriting 52 stories. And as each girl walks toward her Possibility Story, she carries the power to inspire a hundred more girls.
