A Journey of Resilience: Completing My Second Master’s
A Journey of Resilience: Completing My Second Master’s
Alhamdulillah, I have completed my second Master’s degree—a milestone that carries far more meaning than just an academic achievement. It is a story of struggle, survival, and the extraordinary support of my husband, Ariful Islam.
Just a week after beginning the program, I was in a bus accident. The injuries forced me into a month and a half of bed rest. Even after that, I was afraid to get on a bus again. But every Friday, my husband would take me to the university, wait with me the whole day, and bring me home in the evening. Without him, I don’t think this degree would ever have been possible.
As if that weren’t enough, challenges kept coming. On the day of my first semester’s final exam, I fell seriously ill and was hospitalized. Soon after, I had to undergo gallbladder surgery and faced yet another accident. I was devastated—physically weak, mentally exhausted, and emotionally broken. At one point, even continuing my studies felt impossible.
But my husband never gave up on me. After long office hours, he would sit beside me while I cooked for the family, patiently explaining questions one by one before exams. On many exam days, because I struggled to wake up early, I would arrive late and take a front seat. With full concentration and his encouragement, I pushed through and achieved results I never thought possible.
Balancing my health, family responsibilities, office work, and studies was overwhelming. Yet, with the mercy of the Almighty and the steadfast support of my husband, I managed to complete this degree.
Today, I am deeply grateful to share that I have earned my second Master’s from Jahangirnagar University with a CGPA of 3.58. For admission to an MPhil program, the requirement was 3.50—and I have met it. Now, my next academic journey begins.
Sometimes in life, we stop. We feel afraid because of our circumstances. But as women, we must remind ourselves to stay strong and continue moving toward our dreams—no matter how many challenges stand in the way.
This is not just a degree. It is a symbol of resilience, of a couple’s partnership, and of faith in the Creator’s plan. I am endlessly thankful to my husband, who stood by me through every challenge, and to Allah, who gave me the strength to endure.
Please keep me in your prayers as I step into the next chapter of my academic and personal journey.
