story
For International Women's Day I would like to honor my incredible wife and partner of 22 years, Annette Cycon. Besides being an amazing and dedicated mother to our two strong and intelligent daughters, Annette has dedicated her professional life to assisting mothers in overcoming the societal, familial and self-oppression that mars mothers' self-realization. Through the powerful organization she founded ten years ago, MotherWoman, Inc (www.motherwoman.org), Annette designs programs that address deeply personal struggles of mothers of children with disabilities, post-partum depression, mothers of serving military children, across the entire spectrum of class, race and ethnicity in the US. She has also brought her work to indigenous communities in Guatemala, where the work cut through cultural barriers t have meaning and impact to the lives of the mothers who participated.
Annette, I am so proud of you, in awe of you and deeply in love with you!
