A well-fed child

Children taking porridge

Ashura and his younger brother Inno are among the children who benefit from the early learning opportunity at the Nganza center. Both do arrive at the center much earlier than the other children and every time around 8.00 o'clock in the morning, they all start to fall asleep. After following up to find out what happens to them, we found out that the children live in a difficult environment and often get only one meal a day. But it is not only them, there are many other children who arrive at the center without eating anything in the morning, which makes them unable to participate well in learning activities.

To ensure that children get holistic services necessary for the child's development, Dunia Rafiki has launched a feeding program at Nganza community-based center where children get a healthy cup of porridge daily. This program aims to keep children healthy and active during learning but also to reduce the intensity of hunger for those children who get one meal a day like Ashura and his younger brother.

The goal is to impact the growth, learning and life outcomes of 200 children by the end of 2024.

Duninia Rafiki believes in the importance of building a movement of champions and supporters from across sectors to achieve our organizational goal.
