A World at Peace

Peace is

A world with no war,

Where everyone has food, home, safety

Our beloved Earth cared for

No dominion, no violence, no needs unmet

Governments led by Circles of wise and compassionate people

The leadership of women respected.

Peace is no woman being beaten or silenced,

No child uncared for

All children in school

Taught possibility, not histories of war.

Peace is all girls respected, the right to choose their lives

All peace loving people safe and able to be fully ourselves

The celebration of our diversity

In how we live our lives.

Peace is all nations at peace,

Respectful discussion replacing authoritarian laws,

Organic food replacing pesticide soaked fields.

Peace is the sharing of resources, carefully harvested

Available to all

Education replacing forced child labour

Loving relationships replacing forced marriages

The respect for living free

Peace is discussion not dictation

In circles, not top down

From villages, not boardrooms

Peace is offerings of gifts and food

Not bargaining with gold dug from mines

By children in forced slavery

Not girls forced into marriages

A life of rape and forced motherhood,

No avenues of escape.

Peace is all nations at peace,

Utopian

But we know deep down in our bones

That peace is what we were born to carry

Celebrating this chance to create it together

Through this gift of being able to meet each other

And to know

We are here to make this happen

For ourselves

For each other

For the next generation

And for our beloved planet
