Agroecology in Indigenous Peoples Territories

Haki Nawiri Afrika , in collaboration with Cherengany Hills Water Towers Indigenous Women Group co-organised a- three day agroecology training focusing on food sovereignty, seed sovereignty, farm management, movement building , advocacy , climate change and legislation and policies in the Kenyan context. The convening took place in Sengwer Ward in Eldama Ravine County from 30th October to 1st November 2024 and was supported by Land is Life .The forum was also an opportunity to learn about the Sengwer ( an indigenous forest dwelling community in Kenya) struggle for land rights , impacts of climate change and how the community has co-existed with nature over time.
