Amazed by the World

I've just started working with Women News Network as a media intern, helping updating the Twitter account of the organization with news of women worldwide....and I'm amazed at how many things are going on around the world without people (including me) having any idea.

Of course, there are lot of bad news to be discovered : that 14,000 Russian women die every year from domestic violence, that flogging is still common punishment for women in Sudan, that HIV/AIDS women in Uganda are denied access to legal services...

However, there are also positive news that can be found on the Internet : that Spanish victims of domestic violence are protected through a GPS service, that a NGO in Tanzania helps girls who couldnt enter secondary education, and that Canadian airlines and airports agreed on participating to a campaign against sex tourism.

Pulse Wire is one of the tools that make me realize how much it is important to communicate about it and work together, so thanks to all of you for that and keep going with sharing your stories !!!!

With admiration,
Aurore
