Amplifying women voices through Public health: My field experience

My name is Jaff Joan Fonyuy, I come from the northwest region of Cameroon. Over the past several years, I have worked closely with Northern region communities facing HIV/AIDS and TB.. In my journey, I have met countless women who carry heavy responsibilities—caring for their families, supporting their communities—yet their voices often remain unheard. I have seen how silence can sometimes cost lives, and how empowering women with knowledge, support, and a platform can transform entire communities.

Along the way, I have also developed a strong interest in nutrition and healthy living, understanding that proper nutrition is key to preventing disease, supporting treatment, and improving overall community health.

These experiences inspired me to dedicate my work to amplifying women’s voices, mentoring health workers, and designing programs that respond to the real needs of those we serve. Joining World Pulse feels like a natural step in this journey—a place to share stories, learn from others, and collectively spark change.

I hope my experiences can contribute to this community, and I invite us all to keep raising our voices, sharing our lessons, and turning stories into action for a healthier, more equitable world.
