Are We too busy to hold each other's stories

The last two months have gone by with me actually having no real memory of what transpired .Did i eat ,did i sleep ? Unconsciously so many things were missed facing the biggest crisis of my parenting life .We came out successfully .

But it has affected my mental health horribly ,largely due to professionalism bordering on apathy .Every single medical professional had stopped feeling and more bothered about data ..

No thought to keeping a young adults with a disability restraint ,pushing ativan randomly when she was trying to express her thoughts with two tubes in her throat .And every time the mother as her primary caregiver pointed out the lack ,she was booked or asked to leave .

As a last resort i emailed the service centre and i was asked to go for counselling or be medicated .

Mind you ,sipping water ,eating first yoghurt after returning from ventillation ,nothing was possible by the speech therapist without my intervention because then suddenly i supposedly knew more ,even though they did t forget to bill ..

Majority of them were female and clearly saw the mother's desperation .I have spend my entire life knowing learning what medication has been recommended to searching for therapies always and training myself somehow ..But when they were trying to help my daughter they forgot to hold me as another women .Just updating me details ,having her in a less sensory and noisy part of the ICU would have helped .

I am a very aware person but i felt both me and my daughter's mental and physical rights werep

stripped away due to her Disability .

This me tal health awareness month ,I am again renewing my fight by advocacy and awareness in townships ,away from cities and in places where people are accepting and not burdened by education .

Amongst those who wish to better their and lived ones life fe .
