As we shut down for months, I found (and made!) time to come back to my paintbrushes.
Painting helped me redefine my role as a partner, a mother, in a time when being stuck at home felt both terrifying and a weird blessing. I realized I felt trapped (hence a lot of windows), but also hopeful (hence a lot of windows :). Building a narrative of an emotion or thought through this art helped me digest it, and bathe in it, but also let it go. It brought me peace and serenity.
Here is one of the paintings I made during that time!
