As Free As A Man

Gemini AI

Harassment, sexual abuse, assault, violence, character assassination, cat calling and add all the more that you have faced or heard of. The world is rarely a safe place for women. I am sure at some point in your life you must have faced at least one of them. As these are not some big words or terminologies rather these are everyday phenomenon. A world where a man roam around anywhere he pleases yet the woman cannot even stay oblivious in her everyday surroundings. You have to be vigilant, You have to stay alert Who know what might happen and When. You know why? because the moment something will happen the first person to be blamed would be You and nobody else. It is not that man's fault who acts as an animal rather it is your fault that you were at the same place with him at some specific time. you have to be careful as his animalistic instinct can be stimulated at any given moment and then you will have to face the consequences as he being a man can get away with almost anything and everything of this sort. For years I have held such encounters caged within me and have never said them out loud as these are things to be ashamed off. But now I am of the view What should I be ashamed off ? What Have I done wrong ? These shame has cost us the mental health of numerous women yet we act as if nothing has happened. One such women is me. I am somebody who would rarely step out of the house but still at times you have to. Few days Back, I was travelling with someone and they had to buy something and they stopped on the side of the road and went to get that. I was alone in the car at the moment and something alarmed that the place where it is parked is not a safe space. There have been reports of certain incidents along the roads. I was scared and suddenly was extremely vigilant about who is passing by and looking in the rear view mirrors. Then a truck passed by and the person sitting on the truck instead of focusing on the road started looking who is inside the car. He looked at least three times to check who was in car while driving his truck and then at some distance he stopped his truck and got off. Before he could navigate any of the plans he had , thankfully the person who went to buy things came back and my prayers of safety were answered. Now you must be thinking ! oh so nothing happened. No something did happen , the fear had been internalised. Guess how scary is that when a simple gaze and someone stopping truck at a distance can alarm you like that. It is scary to live in an environment where you cannot roam freely or be oblivious of your surrounding because you are not a man so you are lost with all those privileges. A learnt fear that makes you watch every step you take and that definitely does not put you in a great mental space. You cannot go to a sub standard shop alone, you cannot come from library at 9:00, you cannot tell a professor to stop mentally torturing you. You cannot do all of these because you live in a man's world and you have to pay the price. The price of being a WOMAN and it is being paid by many women each day and every day. Can you escape that? Is there really a place where you can roam around at any time you like? where you can be yourself without the fear of these kind of men? Is there any place like that? where I can be just me without the fear of being gazed at? is there? if you know any tell me One. I wanna be there for how long , I do not know but for once I also wanna experience freedom in its utmost sense. For Once I wanna be free as Free as a MAN IS.

Quite a thick talk was today but you need to let it out somehow. May you have a day away from creeps like these. Audios!
