Away from Comfort to a community that defined my life positively

At the edge, out of frustration that was me until I joined World Pulse. My journey has been that of recollecting the pieces to create the future I want. I have refused to let uncertainties overwhelm my quest for fulfillment, one day at a time and one situation at a time, but in the end, everything will be sorted out.

I am solid in the belief that if it is meant to be, it will be when I do what I can. Joining World Pulse meant finding my spark, and I can gladly say it has done just exactly that. I joined the community in 2023, and over time, I have grown in different capacities, interacting with individuals, each offering a piece of information and insight to enhance my growth.

With world pulse, it is not just writing, it is branding yourself for the world, and how good you become determines where you will be tomorrow. What puts you out there is hidden in you, discover it, polish it with as many trials as possible, but never sit back in comfort, nothing good comes on a silver platter.

In April, then a stranger. Lyla Wang reached out seeking some background information for her intiative, I didn’t know much but I asked around and got something tangible for her to work with, I didn’t ask for anything in return but she took it to heart and while hunting for collaborators she met the founder of Afrinextgen magazine Taylor Shandukani and while they spoke about her intitiative she mentioned my name and that marked the beginning of something new in my life, forerver grateful to Ms Wang.

Taylor reached out as she was interested in my story as a writer from what Ms wang told her, and when she got to know me deeply, she not only wanted to feature me in her magazine but wanted me on board as editor in chief of Afrinextgen magazine. She did feature, and now I am the editor-in-chief of the magazine.

Face your fears, lest they ruin you. Don’t just be a dreamer without acting on it. I have always dreamt of being in a big room courtesy of my work, and with World Pulse, my work spoke for me, and Lyla vouched for me, and I landed somewhere that just sitting around wouldn’t get me. There is someone meant to connect you to your destiny helpers, but they can’t find you while in your comfort zone; you have to put yourself out there.Your voice is always a step to your destiny.

To the new members of World Pulse, this is not just a platform; it is a home and a medium to get where you should be; use it wisely and fully. Your voice might not be loud, but it is an essential part of you; never silence it. As the editor in chief of Afrinextgen Magazine, I am guaranteed to fulfill myself while we build an empire in Africa that amplifies every voice and sheds light on what African talents feel like, from the changes it brings to the building it enables.

Everyone has two sides, just like a coin, but no matter what happens, don’t let the bad side overpower the good side. Nobody is coming to save you, so dust off and get going; you will heal while growing. While there is something for everyone, it can’t come to you as you’re required to match towards it. You have a purpose, but most importantly, fulfill yourself; there is no greater reward than that of fulfillment while doing what you love the most. Go conquer the world. Humanity needs a piece of every one of us to give it freely, as it gives back bountifully.

Confidence is guaranteed while at World Pulse. There is an unexplainable power one gains that I can testify to with another win I got recently. While scrolling through Facebook in June, I came across a call for entry by Books and Bloom, where they were seeking stories for a book collection. I took part in the competition, and my story made it to the top 30 entries of the year. That was my first trial participating in such. I got an official invite to the launch of Nanyuki Book Festivals scheduled for 10-11th of October this year, another chance to interact and network, all thanks to World Pulse for reassuring me I can dream and achieve. We all can, you just have to do it, your way, the unique way, the authentic way.
