Back Home from IAC2008 in Mexico City

I am just feeling back to normal again after my first IAC, which happens to be the 17th in Mexico City.

The program overwhelmed me, but valued meeting the faces whose names I always see on PulseWire website - this has spurred me to start contributing, and will do so whenever we have electricity and internet connection. I liked the idea of the Women's Networking Zone which was in the Global Village. However, the space was very noisy and made concentration difficult. I kept imagining how women who are hard-of-hearing could meaningfully engage in such a space whose surrounding din was too much for my aging ears.

I tapped into the energy of younger women in my group of Southern African Women Movement Builders. I feel we were able to cross the line and make our message heard by a sizeable number.

I am truly privileged to have been introduced to Pulsewire at its inception, and now with the engagement in the WNZ in Mexico, am determined to be active on the website!
