Becoming Me — In Pieces and in Power

There wasn’t a dramatic moment. No loud fight. No spotlight or applause.

Just a quiet morning. A simple decision.

I chose myself.

For years, I said “yes” when I wanted to scream “no.” I smiled when I wanted to cry. I stayed silent when my heart was begging to speak.

But one day, I looked in the mirror and asked:

What if I stopped hiding?

That question was the turning point. I didn’t know all the answers, but I knew I didn’t want to keep living in pieces, giving my whole self to a world that only accepted parts of me.

So, I started slowly:

I said “no” without guilt.

I wrote down my dreams, even if they felt impossible.

I started speaking honestly—even if my voice shook.

It wasn’t easy. Choosing myself meant letting go of who people wanted me to be. It meant losing some relationships, stepping out of comfort zones, and learning to love the parts of me I used to hide.

But it also meant becoming free.

Now, when I look in the mirror, I see someone real. Someone who may not have it all figured out, but who has finally come home to herself.

That moment—choosing me—is the moment that changed everything.
