Being A Woman Boss.

Various studies around the world show that women have a higher EQ(emotional quotient)than men.It is these qualities that make women bosses more approachable and better equipped in dealing with inter-personal relationships.

Being a woman boss is quite empowering.Though it is a task that is quite tough, one should just avoid these mistakes...don't be a man-a common mistake that women make-behaving like a man rather than powering forward as a woman.

Warmth, caring and empathy are a woman greatest strengths.

Some women will try to hide their natural selves in a bid to fit in a male-dominated organization.Assertiveness and aggression are a must to an extent as a leader but 'feminine' qualities such as concern can be useful in handling workers and employees.

Women bosses often have an 'only business' approach. However, they have to realise that they are part of a boys club and so they must engage in what the boys do.

Talking about sports or the newest gadget helps in connecting with male colleagues and helps build comradeship.

Men,too, gossip, but it is important to watch your tongue. What you communicate decides your fate.Keep your silence and speak when you truly have to.Avoid malicious gossip.

Women surbodinates often omplain that women bosses are tougher on them as compared to male subordinates.Whether that is true or a case of sour grapes try not to let your past experiences determine how you treat your own team members-irrespective of gender.

Women bosses are often accused of being too "soft" and not being as tough on subordinates as they should be.Be caring, maintain a healthy rapport, but dont let employees take advantage of the situation.

Know when to keep your proffessional and personal relationships apart.Socialising and meeting outside work is acceptable and common among women workers, but know where you draw the line.Sometimes your subordinate would expect the same in the office.Handling such can be very tricky.

This is important to say:Sometimes women bosses work doubly hard without the recognition that that a male colleague might recieve.

Dont overburden yourselves.Learn to delegate,to share responsibilities and to say No.

Women bosses, walk with your heads raised high up!
