While growing up, I discovered earlier enough that I love business and I love things around fashion. I walked up to my parents and begged them to learn a vocational skill, I was not giving an opportunity. I even got admission to read catering and hotel management but I was not allowed to go for it.
Parents especially of a girl child should allow them to explore and not deprive them of going for what is in their mind. Mothers should also help their girl child to learn skills. It is as important as the education of a girl child.
We should give our children opportunities to have both vocational skills and professional experience. This gives them options of what they want to do.
Girls need to be financially empowered right from the beginning not when it is too late and they end up becoming a liability in their household.
This is what brought my idea of the Beyond classroom campaign.
