Bhayali'...Friend...Sisterhood...

To Make a  Difference in Someone's life, you don't need to be rich. You just have to care!!!

'BHAYALI' which means 'Saheli' is the name of this project, which shows a strong bond of Sisterhood!! Thanks to Jill, our WP Sister, who helped in connecting the dots.

It so happened...   It started with connecting on messengers,  sharing the contact and sharing about our work..And finally  thinking of joining together and planning to work together on the project   BHAYALI' which is working on the  Sustainable Menstruations options, Clothpads!!  One of the best and easiest option used at the time of periods. Using of cloth during periods is an old old concept. All our Nani-Dadi'  used it, and  even we used it too!! But recently, as the need, it's in a designer form, new look!  Ashay Social Group is working on this  since 2017, 'Making our own cloth pads' is my close to heart project run by Ashay Social Group. Associating with lots of other groups like Rotary in many places in India, its slowly and steadily moving ahead. Mahima Rathore, Founder of Abhichal, NGO, from Ajmer, got connected and we planned to join hands and run this project BHAYALI'  together in Ajmer and the nearby places over there. Abhichal helps in empowering girls and women in different ways. Helping in stitching on sewing machines is one of it. So the idea of stitching cloth-pads and initially distributing in the nearby area, making them aware of this option came further. And work started.  Reaching Ajmer was the first step, teaching the girls how to stitch cloth pads came second. And then no looking back. Girls enthusiastically started working with us. Initial target was to distribute these cloth-pads and let the women's know how to use it and how to take care of it. Day one in Ajmer was for teaching the girls, Second we reached the slum area near MDS University, here the women's were very glad when the saw the cloth-pads. They knew the drawbacks of the one time use and throw plastic sanitary pads, which made things easy for us. Here we distributed 20 sets of cloth-pads.  Second day was planned for Kharwa. Kharwa fort has its own history and we were blessed to visit it and also had a pleasure to have lunch there. Here too we distributed 30 sets of clothpads to the local women's and discussed about the importance of this sustainable menstruations option. Last day, the girls were ready with their queries about few stitchings.  Such a great satisfaction to have communication with these energetic girls who are always ready to learn new things and do it with perfection. All this was possible because of my WorldPulse Sister, Mahima Rathore!!The eagerness of connecting the girls, teaching them, making them empower, making cloth-pads from them,  distribution of it all these things were managed by her easily. The hospitality shown by this family is beyond words. Now I can surely say, I have a near-dear family in Ajmer.

We are ready with small small steps. The initial charity starts from our own pocket, is the same thing with us! But in future to spread wings and reach more and more places to spread awareness about these options we need support. Which we are hoping to get from our community. Let's join our hands and let's make our community hygienically safe and indirectly let's save our environment for the next generation.
