Connections

I’m Rumisa Malik, a freelance journalist from Pakistan, and like every woman, I too have dreams, dreams not just for myself but for the world I live in.
From the narrow streets of Karachi to international media platforms, my journey has been anything but easy. I chose a path that challenged norms, speaking up for human rights, writing about injustice, and being a voice for the voiceless, especially women and children. In a society where a woman with a pen is often seen as a threat, I faced resistance, threats, and isolation. But I refused to stay silent.
There were moments when I was told to "tone it down," to "stay safe," or to "write something lighter." But I chose stories that mattered. I interviewed survivors of abuse, covered stories of forgotten children, and exposed harsh truths. Each word I wrote came from a place of pain, but also hope.
My vision is simple yet powerful:
I want to see a peaceful world where no child is abused, no woman is silenced, and no one is denied their rights because of who they are. I dream of ending pedophilia, of building systems that protect the innocent. I want every child to receive the best education and every woman to chase her dreams without fear. This is more than work to me it’s my mission.
Behind my strength is a story of wounds, healing, and rising. I’ve been doubted, underestimated, and at times broken but never defeated. Every rejection taught me resilience. Every story I published gave me purpose.
I write not for fame but for change. I believe that journalism, when done with heart and courage, can move mountains.
To every girl who thinks her dreams are too big for the world she lives in,I want you to know they’re not. You don’t have to fit in. You just have to stand firm.
This is me "Rumisa Malik"
A woman, a journalist, a dreamer. And I’m just getting started.
