Building Bridges: Advancing Our Cross-Cultural Learning Initiative

Queen Sheba Village, in collaboration with Sombhabona in Bangladesh, is proud to share exciting progress on our joint English language initiative, designed to foster meaningful cross-cultural connections between students in both countries.

While the Queen Sheba Education Social Center in Senegal is still under construction, our shared commitment to building a vibrant space for language learning, global dialogue, and digital empowerment continues to move forward. Though the selection of students and English teachers in Senegal is still in process, foundational steps are actively being taken to bring this vision to life.

On the other side of this collaboration, in Bangladesh, Sombhabona has already launched a pilot program. Ten students from Class Seven are currently completing the first part of their English language module. These students can now confidently introduce themselves and engage in basic opening conversations in English—an inspiring first step! Beginning July 15, a dedicated language club will also be launched to further strengthen their skills and provide regular practice opportunities.

We're especially excited to share that these students recently created a video for an international competition, where they described their project in English. Although nervous about their first public speech, they showed great courage and determination—an achievement in itself. We believe this early experience will lay the foundation for their future growth, one word at a time. We look forward to sharing a special video update on their progress by the end of this month.

Additionally, we are grateful to a sponsoring computer organization that has pledged to provide discounted, high-quality computers for the center in Senegal. Once the facility is ready, we will seek funding to cover shipping and distribution costs, ensuring every student has access to essential technology for learning.

This collaboration reflects our shared belief in the power of education to bridge borders, uplift voices, and create lasting change—starting with small, bold steps toward a brighter, united future.
