Call for Applicants​-Voices of Our Future 2011 (email correspondence)

Hey fellow women of the pacific,

Greetings to you one and all :-)

I would like to introduce you all to World Pulse - if you have not already heard of it.

World Pulse is a global media and communication network devoted to bringing women a global voice.
It's 3rd VOF programme has been launched and is seeking applicants. - Global Issues through the eyes of women.

I stumbled on to this unexpectedly and applied and was priveledged to be one of the 30 finalists in its last programme which ended beginning of this year, and was also one single voice in the Pacific.

Not many of the women on the site ever heard of Papua New Guinea when i created my profile so it was good to bring PNG (and the pacific) to the site.

If selected, it is a 5 month long program - which includes submitting assignments, study materials, interviews, conference calls,mentors and a certificate of completion.

I would like to encourage you to become part of World Pulse and sign up to be a member on the site but also apply to the VOF programme.

World Pulse allows you to bring stories from hidden corners, the remotest part of the world to be heard - stories you will never hear about, and an opportunity for you to learn about the challenges and success of women around the globe.
We all have a story to tell and one that can influence change or bring joy to another -- sharing our experiences, our thoughts and struggles through life through the eyes of women!

If you enjoy writing, and would like to try out your skills in journalism - and at the same time learn more about Web2.0 applications (social media blogs etc), citizen journalism, and how you can use these tools in your work, organisation, community, individually - then be a part of the World Pulse VOF program.

World Pulse is also a great networking tool and resource centre for opportunities of further training, funding , projects etc etc for the benefit of women.

Personally I found the program encouraging and open minded on issues facing women - our struggles here sometimes not as worse as that faced in other parts of the world and there are soo many women trying to bring peace, harmony, development, change within their little corners of the world - that we may never get to hear.

WorldPulse uses the power of internet, communication and applications to bring these stories and network women around the globe.
