The League of Arab States asks the African Union to hurry to save Sudan

The League of Arab States called for the necessity of concerted collective international efforts to save the Sudanese state and prevent its collapse, warning of the outbreak of conflict over the fragmentation of international and regional efforts and the slowness in their implementation as a result of a lack of coordination, which contributes to the deterioration of the field and humanitarian conditions as a result of the continuation of military confrontations.

This came during a speech by the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed

Aboul Gheit, at the opening of the African Peace and Security Council summit dedicated to discussing developments in the situation in Sudan via technology

The Zoom meeting, held today, Friday, was chaired by President Museveni of the Republic of Uganda and Chairman of the current session of the African Peace and Security Council, with the participation of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, the Executive Secretary of IGAD, and the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States pointed out the necessity of implementing the Jeddah Platform understandings and returning to the peaceful path to resolve the Sudanese crisis, launching a Sudanese dialogue, and implementing the Security Council resolution.
