In line to creating more awareness and finding solutions on challenges and struggles affecting thousands of African girls/women manage their Menstrual cycle; i am honored to be selected by WorldPulse organization to brainstorm and share with fellow members, on my new initiative on menstrual hygiene campaign in Malawi tagged- #1pad4her.

This special event will happen on May 28th Training Tuesday here on WorldPulse platform. It will also be an opportunity to mark #2024worldmenstrualday.

My menstrual initiative #1pad4her covers educating young girls/women in Malawi on the need to maintain good personal hygiene and health during their monthly cycle. Not only that, we are also soliciting for patronage/collaboration on sanitary towels manufacturers around the world willing to work with us to ensure, poor malawian student and singlemoms have access to hygienically produced sanitary towels.

Menstrual hygiene and health is vital because, if not well managed girls/women can be infected with all kinds of infections that can destroy their reproductive systems in future.

So Agwammawomen #1pad4her is a holistic approach to ensure we educate girls/women on the need to protect themselves from infections during their monthly cycle.

Presently, the prices of hygienically produced sanitary towels are very expensive not just in Malawi but in most African countries. You can imagine a situation where adult females working are struggling to buy these products then, compared the dilemma of young female students and singlemoms not earning salaries.

These poor girls/women hardly have money to feed talkless buying sanitary towels which forced them to use whatever old-torn-dirty clothes available to them. Some also go for the reusable pads sewn manually which are not that hygienic also but they have no choice at all but to use them.

So as we solicit for donations of sanitarytowels, antiseptic wipes, toiletries and partnerships with manufacturers; we are putting structures gradually to educate them protect themselves from infections, and how to wash the reusable pads and keep them from accumulating bacterias.

Our outreach is very new and this initiative is not a project to rush over as we are taking our time with our volunteer workers/Trustees already in Malawi to accomplish our Aims/objectives. We already have our Team on teaching interested girls/women on sewing Reusable pads which is what we can at least afford to do while we wait for donations and partnerships from sanitarytowels/ health companies.

Agwammawomen outreach Africa uses this opportunity to appreciate and show our gratitude to WorldPulse organization for their support and empowerment to push this initiative foward. 🙏👏

I hope to share and brainstorm with everyone come 28th May 2024, during our Training Tuesday meeting. 💜🌺
