Communication Is a human Right ..

South Africa celebrates all the struggles and uproar faced to become free .πŸŒπŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦ Celebrating Human Rights Day in South Africa πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦πŸŒToday, we pause to honor the struggles, sacrifices, and triumphs that have shaped our democracy. .

Human Rights Day is a reminder of the freedoms we cherish and the responsibility we all share in upholding dignity, equality, and justice for every South African..

Have we ever given a thought to those above intelligent individuals who speaks partially ,are non speaking or unable to community cate clearly ?We pass them off as intellectually disabled, often .If their caregivers or parents speak on their behalf at a forum,we often ask them to speak up and silence those who advocate for them ..

I am proud to belong an advanced African country that allows me to speak ,advocate and stand for all minimally or fluently speaking adults .

I am proud that my daughter can continue her education with a scribe who clearly can write for her when she cannot due to severe anxiety ...

I am proud that this adopted country of mine gives me the freedom to speak from my daughter's note in public forums ,on her behalf and / or play her recorded message ,but not ask me to shut down as a Mother..presuming I am putting my own thoughts across..

Amongst all the different struggles worldwide ,I am proud that both of us are recognised for our struggles to communicate ,and not questioned but heard ..

If my daughter will struggle to speak at a public forum,I am assured that in South Africa ,she will be accommodated with communicators, readers or recorders .And not be discriminated for not speaking herself .If yes, those forums. exist too ,I had to learn to remove ourselves ..

Growth is inclusive.Still we discriminate between the normal and disabled..Even in the disabled community ,there is so much bias and groupism that true representation has not been possible yet ..

But I am proud of the future set here ,with laws supporting true growth .May this day keep inspiring us to stand together, celebrate our diversity, and work towards a future where every person is valued, heard, and empowered.

Let’s continue building a nation rooted in respect and unity. β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’š
