Children's mental health

I recall watching a video on Facebook of a 3-year-old child in a therapy session. The child was excited to play with the objects provided, but their expression changed drastically when their mother entered the room. The child's smile vanished, replaced by fear. The mother sat down, read a newspaper, and shouted at the therapist, questioning her methods.

This incident made me realize the significance of environment in shaping a child's personality. Imagine growing up in a household where parents constantly shout at their children, even for minor infractions. Children may develop the impression that it's normal to be sad or fearful all the time.

Research suggests that children as young as 2-3 years old begin to understand simple language and may repeat what they hear. Parents must be mindful of their language, using simple and clear words while avoiding strong or scary terminology.

Envision a 16-year-old who has grown up in an environment of fear and low self-esteem, rather than being taught their worth and potential. It's essential for parents to recognize the impact of their actions and words on their children's development.

We must learn from our past experiences and strive to create a safe, nurturing environment for our children. By doing so, we can help them grow into confident, capable individuals.

My goal is to make sure no child goes through any form of childhood trauma/abuse
