Connections

Hello fellow cyber friends.

My name is Laura and I live in Ottawa, Canada. Last year a friend and I put on a benefit to raise awareness and funds for organizations who are working to stop violence against women. While our main goal and target is to raise awareness of the atrocities and the emergency in the DRC, we also donated some funds to a local organization as well as a national one.

I`m excited to be doing the benefit again this year - with a bigger team!

Though I`ve been very active in causes for much of my short life so far, working on this benefit last year and getting to meet other women who are amazing role models and so strong and courageous made me want to do more. So, I left my job in high tech and moved to the international aid and humanitarian assistance organization CARE in Canada.

I`m looking forward to working to make the world a better place.

I`m looking forward to connecting with more powerful people who are hopefully doing the same. Whether as their day job or not.

I think this is an amazing opportunity to share, create and grow together.
