COVID-19 impact on the voiceless

I have  heard  people  say, write as well as  draw images describing  covid-19 pandemic  as an equalizer. What do they  mean? Covid-19does not choose  whether you are  rich, poor, learned, I mean your economic or social  status  does not stop the pandemic  from  "bitting". I totally  disagree  with them Covid-19 is not an equalizer.

I visited  one lady  a beneficiary  of our KNOW YOUR RIGHT program.she has a daughter  22 years old , blind and partially  deaf. She depends  on her  mother  who is a casual  laborer  for essential items sanitary towels, soap, food and batteries  for her hearing  gadgets. lock down and social  distance  has greatly  affected  J mother  income. She can handly provide  any of  the above items.  J is vulnerable  to SGBV because  she has to  stay home  without  a care giver, again  she has no hearing device at least  to even hear footsteps  of an attacker. They live in slum areas where SGBV is high. I joined my staff in yawi to provide  some of  this essential  to J.  at least  her mother  can keep  her company  for a few days  during the lock down.
