Building stronger and more resilient communities in rural Kenya
Today, as I watch the Nansen Refugee Awards ceremonies about UNSUNG HEROES around our globe
I am thinking about the hundreds of people around the globe today who are working to support projects to help others and their communities build the resilience to make change possible.
I urge all World Pulse platform members who are able to access this Youtube presentation to take the time to listen to the heart-warming stories from people who are being recognized for their good works.
We must all acknowledge that "...Globally, women and girls remain heavily disadvantaged. They are disproportionately likely to experience hunger, illiteracy, low-wage employment, violence, and discrimination. While some progress has been made, the world is not on track to achieving gender equality." (UN Women)
The stories.of all 2024 Nansen Refugee Awards winners are from those who are being honored for stepping forward with efforts to promote love, not hate. Together we can create a better world, and must take opportunities when they present themselves.
