I think you need to hear this.

When we say ability in disability, it applies to mentally challenged children as well.

Many parents neglect and even discard such children as soon as they can.

A child at any point of this spectrum has potential but it requires a loving and intentional parent to help the child achieve greatness.

The same way you need to be intentional to raise the healthy to become a responsible adult, the onus lies on you as a parent to nurture your child regardless of challenges towards greatness.

Stop guilt tripping about how the child's condition came about, end the blame games and emotional drifting, it's time to be a mom.

My message this morning, if you are the mother of mentally challenged child, remember these

It is called a mental challenge because winners have to emerge

Your child, so you are needed to parent to complete the team for success

The failure or success of the child in this challenge rests on your shoulder

You can do it if you WANT

Take a deep breath, cross today's hurdle, the hurdles never truly end but you get better at crossing them and celebrating big and small wins.
