DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Hi friends,

It is my pleasure to join this group. I love wrting, reading any interesting book, and watching movies.
Apart from my writings as a Journaist, I am into poetry too as a means to further express my views and opinions as a Communicator. I titled my poetry - Societal Poems because they cut accross every societal aspects like human rights, gender, environment, tributes, love etc.

There is a Publisher already interested in my poems and demand atleast 30 poems so i could have my own poetry book. Presently i have 26 poems but I am still looking for a Publisher with a better deal.
I guess with this group i shall have critiques to assess my poetry and also openings to have my poetry published.

While wishing you all my sincere regards, it is my desire to share one of my poems- Domestic Violence.

Domestic violence
Is a show of gross insolence
By mankind's imprudence
and display of impudence

The act although derogatory
The phenomenon is contemporary
the action sometimes is simply retaliatory
yet it is not obligatory

Families no longer commiserate
and so they exaggerate
from stupendous exasperation
They cause a lot of commotion

Domestic violence in all its form
Many are still to be inform
Of it's negative consequences
To curb other tendencies

The effect on children and women victim
The act condemn has gotten to the rim
Punishable by laws enforced
The status of many re- enforced

How authentic to have an ideal relationship
With conjugal bliss for all citizenship
To congregate in absolute harmony
And enjoy a peaceful matrimony
