Domestic Violence in Barbados: Who will protect the victim?

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share a story of domestic violence in my country, Barbados. As a current Voices of the Future Correspondent, I feel honoured to have been contacted by this woman and to be able to share her story.

Please note that the law does provide for rape within a marital situation. For some reason the police communicated otherwise.

Hopefully by sharing these stories, other women will be inspired to share and start speaking with their own voices. Until then, I welcome your comments and recommendations.
