Mental Training
Did you know that over 40% of the world’s population, more than 3 billion people live with neurological disorders? This includes countless women in South Sudan, whose stories often go unheard.
One of those stories lives close to me: a beautiful mother, trying to breastfeed her child, suddenly attacked by a seizure. Her baby, confused and frightened, still reaches for the comfort of her milk the very nourishment that supports brain development. This is not just a moment. It’s a daily reality for many families.
Yet, brain health remains neglected.
🔹 Epilepsy 🔹 Stroke 🔹 Neurodevelopmental disorders 🔹 Mental health conditions
In South Sudan, we face a critical shortage of neurologists, and most people cannot access diagnosis or care. Weak health systems, limited funding, and deep-rooted stigma mean that essential services like stroke units and rehabilitation centers are often unavailable, especially in rural areas.
There is no national plan to address this growing crisis but we can change that.
Let’s Prioritize Brain Health
We must:
• Advocate for inclusive public policies
• Expand access to care, especially for women and children
• Strengthen data systems to understand and respond to the scale of the problem
This is a call to action. Don’t stay silent. Someone’s sister, mother, or child is suffering and your voice, your support, can make a difference.
Let’s build a future where brain health is a right, not a privilege. This Story is not just about South Sudan, it is about the millions of women in the world who needs your support. Please Act Now!
