My name is Doleh Khan Usman, and I come from Umerkot, Sindh, Pakistan. As a gender researcher and youth advocate, I have spent the past few years working closely with young women in rural areas of Sindh, helping them overcome social barriers and gain economic independence through vocational training. Whether it's tailoring, beautician work, or other trades, I have witnessed firsthand how skill development can transform lives—giving women the tools to earn, lead, and uplift their families. Through various projects and fieldwork, I have supported hundreds of women to pursue decent work, improve their confidence, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Because of this work and commitment, I was honored to be selected to represent these empowered voices at international platforms, including the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) and the ARROW Women’s Conference in Thailand 2025. At these forums, I shared stories of resilience from Sindh and advocated for women-led vocational programs that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—especially SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). This journey is not just mine—it belongs to every woman who dared to learn a new skill, earn with dignity, and challenge the limits imposed on her. Together, we are building a more equal and economically resilient future.
