Expanding Our Impact: Collaborating with NGOs to Scale our Google Calendar Immunisation

At Motherhood NG Initiative, we believe that simple ideas, when shared, can save more lives and transform more communities.

After five years of running Project Safe Birth to improve maternal and newborn health, we recently launched an innovative idea, teaching pregnant women and new mothers to use Google Calendar as a free, easy-to-use tool to remember their babies’ immunisation dates.

We first trained 30 Faith-Based Birth Attendants in Igando, Lagos, who are now teaching this tool to the mothers they care for. The feedback has been inspiring, and the impact is spreading already!

We are excited to document that one NGO in Northern Nigeria has reached out to collaborate with us to replicate this simple but life-saving idea in the communities they serve. Together, we are training their team so they can empower more birth attendants and mothers with this knowledge — helping even more babies receive life-saving vaccines on time.

This is exactly what we dreamed of: a solution that any community can adapt without needing expensive new apps, just the power of an existing tool and local trainers.

We are open and ready to collaborate with more NGOs, community groups, and healthcare advocates across Nigeria and beyond.

If you would like to join us, please reach out, together, we can reach more mothers, save more babies, and build healthier communities.
