Fast and Prayers Day.

My name is Nancy Fayiah

Good morning to All,

I'm filled with gratitude to be alive today, and to share the spirit of this special day in Liberia. On April 11 each year, we come together to honor a tradition deeply rooted in our nation's history—Fast and Prayer Day. Regardless of our religion, we unite in prayer, reflecting on our collective hopes and seeking guidance from God for the prosperity and peace of Liberia.

This day holds historical significance as it traces back to 1883, when Liberia's National Legislature enacted a law to designate a day for fasting and prayer. It was a time when our forefathers, faced with the challenges of building and unifying a young nation, recognized the importance of spiritual reflection. They turned to their faith, trusting that divine intervention would help them overcome obstacles and build a better future for generations to come.

As a legacy of their wisdom and devotion, Fast and Prayer Day continues to remind us of the enduring power of unity, faith, and reflection. Whether we gather in churches, mosques, or other sacred spaces, this day brings us together as one people—grateful for the blessings we have received and hopeful for a brighter tomorrow.

Join us let's celebrate God's goodness.

Wishing you all a meaningful and reflective Fast and Prayer Day!
