Feeling the Energy: A girl who wants to Connect and Join

I am a young woman who is lucky enough to be a student in the USA. A teacher of mine wanted us to watch the program Half the Sky as part of the class. I was so moved by the women who were putting themselves to the task of making the world a better place, one day and one woman at a time. I was so inspired and wanted more information, so I read the book. It was through that book that I found World Pulse. I cannot find the right words, but all I can say is that I felt an energy from the voices of all of you, a kind of steam that is building in a closed container that will burst any moment.
I don't know what I want to study or what I want to do, but I do know I want to be part of that energy.

I have talked to many people my own age, and they say that they cannot possibly help huge, complex issues like poverty or violence. They feel helpless. I used to feel that way, too, until I started reading stories of other women who made even the slightest decisions that had a huge impact. I now want to start a group here at my all-women's college to connect with people abroad and help in some way.

I am only in the beginning stages of thinking about this project, but World Pulse inspires me to keep going. I would love comments and ideas from everyone!
