Food Price and Poverty Go in the Same Direction!

Increasing in food price has dragged more million people to go under poverty line. To solve the problem world bank will call G20 for a meeting to fine resolution. It is a very big issue which happen almost everywhere in the world. We can understand this just by looking at our experience since we know how to spend money. For example, to serve household I was the one who usually go to market and buy food. To serve three people in the family, I only need 8000 riel ($2) per day, since 2000) to buy enough food and with some a little extra fruit or desert. Now it has been ten year, and we need another income in order to make our budget line still affordable. Maybe it is not exactly as calculated, but the real experience is that, to serve only 2 people because now I am not eating with the family anymore, my mother need 20000 riel to buy food per day.

I really thank my mother that she can keep up with the inflation on food price. She works really hard still we still only can earn enough for everyday life. How about some other families who are already below the poverty line or some families exactly on the poverty line or families that just a little bid higher than poverty line are hardly keep up their position because of fast growing in food price in comparison to their income. Some families have to spend 50% of their income on food. How about school free for their children, health care service, social programs, and many other things?

I hope that the discussion among world bank and G20 or any else meeting with the top, can come up a resolution that can cut numbers of people who live below poverty line. Food price decreases so that poverty can be reduced. Hope everyone can be at least closed to equal resource distribution. The gap between the poor and rich can be narrowed down.
