We often talk about freedom of choice in clothing. But what does freedom in clothing truly mean?
Once, my boss, who claims to believe in freedom of clothing, saw me wearing a hijab and gown and remarked that I looked like a "bundle of fabric." Hearing this, I felt deeply humiliated, ashamed, and angry. I returned home from the office and cried a lot.
When my mother learned about the incident, she said, "You don’t need to go there anymore. There’s no need to even talk to them. Let go of whatever you’re owed and move on."
There are people everywhere who claim to believe in freedom but consider only their own beliefs as the standard of freedom, imposing it on others.
