FROM BEING A TEEN - MOTHER TO AN ADVOCATE

mary was a bright little gir at 12yo she was always talkative,social and would always want to know more about events happening around her.with her school work she always emerges the best student in class every year that alone made her stood out and her parents were so proud of her! being the only child she enjoyed all the love and care from her parents .one sad morning both her parents died in road accident that was really had on mary the death of her parents affected her mentally that she started performing bad in school .mary cried every single day she wore this sad face nothing interested her ever , her grandparents took her in as they were the only surviving family mary had. so mary started withdrawing from society she hated everything and as months went by mary stopped going to school and as a friend of her family i went to find out why this little girl is not going to school .only for her grand mother to tell me that mary is pregnant. in my mind i was like its not the end of the world she can always give birth and go back to school.so i had to talk to mary as amother of young little girls i put myself on marys shoes and we had a chat for hours she opend up- to -me . she share with me all her fears she was planning of getting abortion and i had to stop her ,i shared with her the dangers of abortion how she might even loose her life .i encouraged her to give birth to the baby her grand parents and me will be here for her or we might opt for adoption if need be . i'm still thankful because mary trusted me and listend to me .she gave birth nine months later nursed her baby boy for the next six months with the help of her grandparents and me then later we decided it was time for mary to go back to school to proof all those people who talked bad about her wrong . the girl mary made me so proud she became positione one in her class and that did not stop there. she later got good grades and won a sholaship for her hightschool education .mary was a star and an example to many young girls that being a teen mother is not he end of the world .by the end of her highschool term she won a nother scholaship to study law abroad thats how bright mary was despite losing both her parents , getting pregnant she proof everyone wrong that being a teen-mother is not a mistake or the end of the world . mary became a mentor to other young girls in my ommunity. local schools would invite her for a youth event she would use her own story to tell a story she would share some of the words i talked her about to share her fears that made me so proud of her. from her real life story she also won an exchange programm that was going for six weeks in the USA she learnt alot from the programm,made amazing contact that help her grow her passion in the community she started her own foundation that advocate for teen girls who got prengant to be allowed to go back to school her foundation help take care of those babies during the day for those young girls who cant afford fee for day care mary with the help of her friends who went through humiliation for being teen mothers manages it something i foreseen once i helped mary to get back to her feet. every time i sit down and i reflect on some of the achievements in my life i see little mary if i never stood up for her that would have been a wasted opportunity for abright girl that all she needed was a ear to listen , to understand her ,to encourage her something that i gave it all from the wisdomi gathered of everydays life .mary is a strong powerful women she mentor so many young girls i never miss her events i made sure i attend them sit on the back to just listen to a girl i mentored too and changed her life by giving her a second opportunity to prove those who look down on teenagers geting pregnat as of no good .my dream is to change the lives of as many teenagers in my community give then second chance to be better adults . marys son now a teenager and an enterprenur try to imagine if mary had an abortion! i see him and i smile her mother is so proud of her every single day. one day marys son asked me if its true her mother was to get rid of her ! i was so shocked but me being wise i had to tell him thats the past and we dont dwell on the past because your here now and you going to make your own story in one of this tv shows share how your mother almost got rid of you and some angel came along . i thinkhe listentoher mothers testimony too much lol. marys foundationis now taking care of ten babies and all their mothers in school getting knowlegde like their peers.some are in the university persuing degrees imagine without mary all this girls would be home wasting their lives . this is why being your sisters keeper is my motto and as long as i'm a life i will use the resourses i have to change lives of young woman who needs my help because they are the generation of years to come . i hope to see my community with many learned woman and who always stand for more woman in need even if i wont be there my leagacy will still be there standing strong and together
