From Rejection to Resilience, and living meaningfully again.

Long before I became a single mom, I already carried a vision in my heart , "to build an NGO that empowers people with Down syndrome and supports the less privileged". It was my way of giving back, of creating opportunities for those who are often overlooked.
But when life changed and I found myself walking the path of single motherhood, rejection hit me from many sides , from people I thought would stand by me, from society’s silent judgments, and sometimes even from my own doubts. For a moment, I wondered if my dreams still had a place in this new reality.
Becoming a single mom was not part of the story I once imagined for myself. The journey began with rejection -rejection from people I thought would stand by me, rejection from a society quick to judge, and rejection from opportunities that seemed to close their doors once they saw my reality. I carried not just my own pain, but also the weight of proving that my child and I still deserved joy, dignity, and a future.
For a while, life felt like a constant battle between survival and self-worth. But in the quiet moments of struggle, I found a new kind of strength. I realized that rejection was not the end of my story ,it was the beginning of a new chapter where resilience would be my guide.
I chose to rise. I chose to love myself and my child fiercely. I chose to stop seeing single motherhood as a limitation, and instead as a position of strength. Step by step, I began to rebuild ,setting new goals, chasing new dreams, and redefining what it meant to live fully.
Today, I am not just surviving, I am living meaningfully. My journey as a single mom has shaped my vision to create spaces of empowerment, especially for those who feel unseen , from people with Down syndrome to less-privileged families. What was once rejection has become my fuel for impact, and what once broke me has now built me into a woman with purpose.
Instead of silencing my vision, those challenges gave it new depth. I learned resilience, not in theory, but in practice , through sleepless nights, financial struggles, and the determination to raise my child with love and dignity.
I have learned that even after rejection, life can be meaningful again. And through resilience, love, and vision, I am writing that new story every single day.
What inspired my vision is a story for another day.
