From Scrolling to Speaking: How Digital Spaces Helped Me Find My Voice

speaksour digital spaces should unite us and not divide us.
There was a time when I felt unheard, like my voice was too small to matter, as though my story was too ordinary to make a difference.
I wanted to speak up, to share, to connect—but where? With whom? How?
Then, the internet.
At first, it was just a place for me to scroll, to pass time, to escape. But slowly, I began to see something else—stories that looked like mine, voices that spoke about my struggles, women of all ages and backgrounds who weren’t just speaking but being HEARD.
I saw how a single post brought conversations alive, how shared experiences could build a community, how words, MY WORDS—COULD ACTUALLY MEAN SOMETHING.
So, I started sharing. Not just my victories, but my struggles.
The waiting.
The disappointments.
The small wins that felt huge because I knew what it took to get there.
And something beautiful happened. Guess what? People listened. They responded. They shared their own stories.
I remember posting about the years I spent trying to get into university, about the frustration, the doubts, the moments I almost gave up.
I thought it was just my story, but then people started reaching out. Women. Men. Girls.
"I've been there too."
"I thought I was alone."
"This gave me hope."
"You can do this."
That’s when I truly understood that digital spaces aren’t just for chatting and scrolling.
They’re for CONNECTING, HEALING, and REMINDING each other that we’re NOT ALONE.
They’re for ACTION. For lifting each other up when the world tries to silence us.
Now, I use my voice more BOLDLY.
I speak not just for myself, but for the women still searching for theirs. Because I know what it’s like to feel alone in your story. And I also know how powerful it is when someone else says, "Me too."
So, if you’ve ever wondered,
"Is it really worth sharing?"
"Can I make a difference with this?"
"Will my words create change?"
The answer is YES.
Because I’ve seen it. I've lived it. And I’m still here, speaking.
And I know that when we show up for each other(online or offline)we don’t just build connections. We build movements.
We build change.
