Fund HER

Ideally, we would have thought that by now, every funder or investor would know that putting funds in women's hands is the key to making the difference. However, it does not seem so.

Aside from giving birth to, raising and nurturing the younger generation, women are the most excluded in formal sectors and the most active in the informal sector or every economy.

You will find them on the streets, in markets or in their homes running businesses that puts food on the table for their children. Yet, challenges remain constant. Of systemic exclusions, discrimination, erasure of their hard work and sacrifices.

Everywhere I look in the heart of Nigeria, I see women wherever challenges are plenty and resources are scarce. I see women refusing to give up, with a quite smirk or smile on their faces; simply refusing to stay down.

And in my heart, I see a silent revolution brewing; one that whispers, "If you desire change, invest in women, and watch miracles happen.

Except the people with the monies do not seem to see it.

Everyday, I have reason to respect the unsung sheroes, the backbone of families, communities, and economies – women who for far too long, they've been overlooked, undervalued, and underfunded.

I often find myself wondering at what would happen when we empower women with the resources they need to thrive even though I know the answer. I see it in my mind's eye. The shift, the change, the revolution.

Profound, lasting, and life-altering change.

I just wish every smart investor would understand and know that funding women is not a moral imperative; but a smart investment in the future of society, work and business. Because when women receive funding, they're not just changing their own lives – they are also transforming their families, communities, and the world at large.

Women are the primary and most essential caregivers, breadwinners, and community leaders the world needs. They're the glue that holds societies together. Yet, they're often the last to receive support, and the first to be overlooked.

The statistics are glaring: women-owned businesses receive a fraction of available funding; with women in developing countries receiving the least and facing insurmountable barriers to accessing finance.

One thing that cannot be denied is that when we fund women, we unlock a ripple effect of positivity, unleash a wave of entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation.

When women are empowered, they invest in their children's education, health, and well-being thereby creating safer, more resilient communities, and a more equitable society.

The impact of funding and investing in women is real, and tangible.

It is confirmed that studies have shown that women are more likely to invest their income in their families and communities, creating a multiplier effect that benefits everyone. And women-led businesses are more likely to hire women thereby creating a cycle of empowerment and economic growth.

This means that when women funding is made a priority and resources are channeled into their hands, all the world have to do is WAIT and WATCH as they work their magic in making the impossible possible.

The possibilities are endless. Women funding can bridge the gender gap, drive economic growth, and create a more just, equitable world.

When we priorities empowering women, one investment at a time, we are not just recognizing the potential that lies within her and and unlocking it; but also creating a world where women have the resources they need to thrive, and the entire society benefits in increased productivity and job opportunities, reduced poverty and crime rates.

And this is assured.
