Empowering Women to Empowerr one another
Hello my name is Linda, an advocate of women Empowerment..In my experience, securing funds is the most challenging part of social impact community
So many beautiful programs are most times limited by availability of funds..
To address this, my Organisation developed a community funding model that empowers women to empower one another.
How this works it that we provide women with viable business ideas/ business with the knowledge, resources and skills they need to succeed and expand their business.
This training includes pitching, marketing, branding, business analysis, business structure planning and more
We also went further to reach out the potential investors on behalf of the women to connect them with investors interested in supporting their businesses.
Hopefully as the women grow and expand their business and are able to generate stable income, they will give back to the community through paying membership fees and also mentoring other women interested in their line of business, creating a sustainable and expanding network.
We also have plans to kickstart the same model for women interested in Tech career. Providing them with resources, trainings and internship opportunities.
As these women grow in their career, they are expected to mentor others women interested in their field.
The membership fee is to provide a steady stream of funding for the foundation to carrying out activities while looking forward for grants and corporate sponsorship.
Trained women becomes trainers, reducing the need for paying external experts.
We started our first cohort with 32 women but only 6 were determined enough to finish the 12 weeks training program.
They 6 women will be our pioneer community funding members. We will guide them with what they need to ensure their business succeeds
Our model hopefully can be replicated across various industries and expanded into new regions as the number of women increases.
we are still trying out the effectiveness of the community funding model within the next 3- 5 years and see how it goes, leveraging membership fees and peer to peer training to drive growth and impact.
Though we have ours fears and "what if"
What if after help these women to succeed some of they back down on the agreement?
We are hopeful their have good heart and understand they importance of having more empowered women.
It can be really painful investing resources on someone and when it is time to give back to the society, they back down.
Anyways, we ensure they get whollistic training that covers every aspect to life that gets them to become the best version of themselves.
It has not been an easy journey but we are grateful for women who trained these pro bono in various aspects of business.
What do you think about our model?
