Gabon gets a female president

One man's meat is another man's poison. The longest serving president in Africa died and some cry while others rejoice. Those who rejoice do so because death achieved what democracy had failed to do. Well, the Gabonese have shown that they are indeed a democratic society.

Following their constitution, the Speaker of the Senate was sworn in as President. It is even more amazing because it is a woman. No matter that she is going to be president for just 45 days, I still think that it is a plus that Gabonese accepted her without a fuss, despite rumours to the contrary.

I guess we have to wait and see what happens next. But, cheers to you Rose Francine Rogombe.
