My reaction from where I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, on the day after Hillary lost the US election: The day after... I live on a blue island (NM) next to one other blue island (CO) surrounded by a sea of red. Today, I declare myself a sovereign citizen of the SW Blue Islands. Our island territory stands for hope and tolerance and respect and protection of women in the midst of hatred, abuse and greed. We welcome hardworking immigrants, people of color, and the LGBT community to make our island nation a better, more diverse land based on love. Far off in the distance, I see other blue territories who are our allies. We hold a silent vigil together to keep the values we share alive in a turbulent sea of red.
